That's great. I was unaware anyone had published on this. I've been thinking about it for a long time now. There is nothing extraneous in nature; even our craziest crap has positive (only meaning survival) evolutionary reasons behind it. I concluded this sort of thing was a potent selector because it allows for hearsay learning which while causing lots of problems seems to fix just a few more from a survival standpoint.
